Swap safely

Six habits that prevent almost every bad swap.

Demo environment. No real payment, ownership transfer, or legally binding exchange is completed through this test platform.

Meet somewhere public

First meetings belong in a busy, well-lit place — a supermarket car park, a police station meet-up spot, a café. Take someone with you for anything high value.

Verify before you hand anything over

Inspect in person, test what can be tested, and complete the verification step in the swap room before either side gives anything up. Never hand over first on a promise.

Paperwork matters most

Vehicles: check the V5C or title matches the seller, run the VIN, confirm no outstanding finance. Property: deed, survey, and anything registered against it. Services: agree scope, milestones and what done looks like, in writing.

Keep it on-platform

Someone pushing you to move to a private channel, pay a deposit, or skip the steps is the single most common warning sign. Genuine swappers are happy to go slowly.

Trust the mismatch

If the description, the photos and the person in front of you do not line up, walk away. No swap is worth ignoring that feeling.

Report it

Every listing, profile and swap step has a report button. Reports go to the moderation queue with the context attached, and you can open a dispute from inside a swap room at any time.
